What is Camp Yale Arts?

Here’s a little bit about what we do:

Camp Yale Arts (CYA) is Yale’s arts-focused mid-orientation program for incoming first-year students. Over four days, you’ll explore Yale’s extraordinary arts resources—from world-class museums to cutting-edge creative spaces—while connecting with a tight-knit “family group” of peers and guided by our team of incredible student counselors. Whether you’re an experienced artist or just curious about exploring something new, CYA is about community, creativity, and a fun start to your Yale journey!

A Day with Camp Yale Arts

Each day at CYA blends immersive arts experiences with relaxed social time. Mornings often start with breakfast together, followed by rotating family group activities across Yale’s arts spaces. Afternoons may feature special workshops, campus excursions (ice cream at Arethusa, anyone?!), or time to unwind. Evenings bring everyone back together for signature CYA events like Family Night (think: leather journal making, sip & paint, or movie nights with snacks). The pace is balanced — you’ll experience a lot, but also have downtime to rest and recharge.
