Each day at CYA blends immersive arts experiences with relaxed social time. Mornings often start with breakfast together, followed by rotating family group activities across Yale’s arts spaces. Afternoons may feature special workshops, campus excursions (ice cream at Arethusa, anyone?!), or time to unwind. Evenings bring everyone back together for signature CYA events like Family Night (think: leather journal making, sip & paint, or movie nights with snacks). From breakfast to evening activities, the days run from approximately 9 AM to 10 PM, but the mandatory programming ends each day around 4:30 PM—just before dinner.
There is a lot going on. You have questions. We totally get it. Please review our FAQ before emailing with any further questions or concerns. Thanks very much!
The dining halls will be open and ready to feed you! The CYA 2025 meals will be primarily based in the Branford and Saybrook dining halls, where we’ll all be eating together. Your counselors will help you navigate everything—from succeeding at the waffle maker to concocting the best fountain soda punch!
We’re not able to take requests for program changes unless there are extenuating circumstances that would disallow you to participate in CYA. If this is something about which you’re concerned, please contact Kelly Lampart at the Office of First-Year Affairs: kelly.lampart@yale.edu.
Perfect — CYA is for everyone! All of our art-making activities are geared toward an entry-level, summer-camp arts-and-crafts style, so you’ll be able to dive right in regardless of your background.
We’ll all gather in the Branford/Saybrook courtyards around 4:30 PM on Wednesday, August 20 to meet each other, pick up CYA merch, and head to dinner.
